Top 3 Most Common Mistakes Made During a Breakup

When you are trying to get your relationship back on track after you and your boyfriend broke up, it is important to avoid any of the many harmful behaviors that could be toxic to your efforts. There are several things that really cause the most problems, but I'm just going to list the top 3 for you. If at all possible, talk yourself out of doing any of these things!

1) Drunken Dialing - Alcohol is never a solution to your problems, but it can help to dull the pain so its not surprising that a lot of people drink during a heavy breakup. Unfortunately, this can lead to Drunk Dialing, when you are so depressed and had so much to drink that a late-night phone call to the ex actually starts to sound like a good idea.

Unfortunately, this is a common situation that more and more brokenhearted people are finding themselves in, and it does a lot of damage to any attempts to get your ex back. If your ex even picks up, you are just going to end up embarassing yourself. Even if you get the voicemail, you're still going to seriously regret it...the hangover wont be the only thing you have to deal with in the morning.

2) Text-Message Terrorism - Kind of like Drunken Dialing without the alcohol...this is when you attack your ex with wave after wave of phone calls or text messages, all trying to win him back or convince him of how much you care about him. His phone is cluttered with message after message, and never stops ringing.

It is really easy to fall into this. Even if it doesnt seem like something you would do, being in such a turmoil can make you very desperate...desperate enough to practically harass your ex with constant calls. This will only alienate you and your ex, and drive him to be so tired of you that he avoids you entirely...which makes getting him back significantly harder.

3) The Endless Slump - You are so depressed that life just stops having any meaning, and so you completely stop living it. You stop going out, whether its to work or to class, and certainly not with friends. You sit at home at all hours of the day, sleeping half the time and sobbing over daytime television the other half. Life just starts to pass you by as you refuse to keep on living it.

This is a very damaging problem that can do more than keep you from getting your ex back, it can keep you from ever getting anything. After a few missed days at class or work, you start to fall behind and you can even end up flunking or getting fired. Your friends will start to avoid talking to you because all you have to talk about is your pain, because there isnt anything else in your life at all. Until you realize that this just cannnot be the way you live your life, this behavior will continue to plague you until it drains you out and dries you up.

Even if you have already fallen to one of these common mistakes, its not too late to fix them and heal any damage they may have done. Avoiding these mistakes is key to getting your ex back and turning your life back around...if you cannot overcome them and work with a real plan, you will have a very difficult time finding happiness again.
