An Transmittable "Disease" That Could Heal the World We Live In

As the heading of this article implies, I'd like to discuss a new strain of virus that every person on earth would benefit from being infected by.
The interesting thing about viruses is how quickly they spread through a population. Also important to note, although probably not surprising, is that each individual that is infected with a specific virus strain tends to show similar symptoms to others that are infected with the same virus. It is these two characteristics that I want to focus on with regard to spreading this new "virus".
Why Pay it Back When It's Possible to Pay it Forward Instead?
A while ago I saw a wonderful movie called Pay It Forward, a movie to which many people attribute the phrase of the same name and the "good deed" mentality that goes with it. In the movie, the phrase "pay it forward" referred to doing a "good deed" for three NEW people, so as to pay FORWARD a good deed that was done for you.
Of course, the idea of paying a good deed forward is actually an old one, pre-dating even Benjamin Franklin who, in 1784, detailed the concept in the following way:
"I do not pretend to give such a Sum; I only lend it to you. When you [...] meet with another honest Man in similar Distress, you must pay me by lending this Sum to him; enjoining him to discharge the Debt by a like operation, when he shall be able, and shall meet with another opportunity. I hope it may thus go thro' many hands, before it meets with a Knave that will stop its Progress. This is a trick of mine for doing a deal of good with a little money."
But surely paying it forward doesn't always have to involve monetary assistance, nor even physical labor, although it certainly might. WhyTheCards.com applies a much simpler approach to Paying it Forward.
Virtually Everybody Desires Encouragement and Appreciation
Nearly 100 years ago, Andrew Carnegie decided that Charles Schwab was the best man to run the new United States Steel Company. So, he hired him as president with a starting salary of ONE MILLION DOLLARS per year or approximately $3,000 per DAY (during a period when a $3,000 ANNUAL salary would have been a very good salary).
According to Schwab, he was offered this incredibly lucrative salary because he knew how to appreciate people and draw out their best qualities.
Said Schwab, "I consider my ability to arouse enthusiasm among my people the greatest asset I possess, and the way to develop the best that is in a person is by appreciation and encouragement."
The newly launched WhyTheCards.com website was created solely to apply the "pay it forward" ideal to this idea of encouragement and appreciation, but via a simple and unique method that infects people like a virus until it, literally, touches hundreds of thousands or even millions of people - hopefully (it's success depends upon people such as yourself).
A Matter of Sending a Simple Card
It's absolutely amazing just how much a simple postcard can boost the spirits of a person who's going through a rough time or has had a really bad day (or even someone who happens to have had a really good day). Let them know how much you appreciate something they did for you or someone else. Or point out something special about them that you really enjoy. Congratulate them on a new promotion. Or, just let them know you're thinking of them as they deal with a difficult situation or have to make some hard decisions.
You might even use a greeting card to invite them to have brunch with you or to let them know you'll be bringing them a meal this Saturday. Or, even better, encourage them to help someone else as well. Not only will they make someone else's day, I can guarantee they will also feel better because they were able to help someone else.
A simple card can sometimes be a useful way to tell someone that they are valuable, that THEY have amazing talents that ONLY they have, and that there are people they know that really NEED their gifts. It doesn't have to take alot of time or cost alot of money to do it - just a simple card is often all that's necessary to really boost someone's spirits.
